Generally, consent is required to add a person’s name to a Quitclaim Deed that is filed with the county of the property’s location.
If a signature is not provided on the revised Deed, typically the county clerk would reject such a filing.
Remember, simply adding a name to a Quitclaim Deed that is not filed does not change ownership in the property; the active step of filing the Deed is required to execute the revisions made to the Deed.
To create revisions on any Deed and to get full instructions for execution and filing, see Standard Legal’s Quitclaim Deed legal document software.
