May I Pay Back Taxes to the IRS Separately from a Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Plan?

Usually, past due or delinquent taxes are paid through a Chapter 13 Bankruptcy plan.

However, if the debtor wishes to propose paying the taxes outside the plan, that scenario can be offered in the plan submitted to the Trustee for his/her approval.

If the Trustee objects to the proposed plan, the plan may need to be modified or revised to bring the tax payment back inside the plan.
