The vast majority of states have no firm set time period or “grace period” for requiring the tender of a Deed for real property upon the completion of payments on a private mortage. A fair person would provide the executed deed to the property very soon after the last payment on the property was received; that’s simply common sense treatment.
Legally, a “reasonable” period of time would be presumed; but if the buyer does not receive the deed within a reasonable period of time, a court action may be required to obtain the deed and title.
